Monaghan Community Forum

Community Fora were set up throughout Ireland in tandem with the establishment of the County Development Boards.
Their purpose was, and remains, to enable the community & voluntary sector to be effectively represented on the Board, and on other decision-making bodies whose work impacts on the c&v sector.
The Forum structure enables reps to feed back to the groups on the ground, and also provides the reps with a mandate to represent all the groups of the county.
Membership of the Forum is free, and is highly recommended

Monaghan County Council's Community & Enterprise section provides development suppport and office accommodation to the Forum, and also to the CDB, thus ensuring that activities of both organisations are complementary and mutually reinforcing.
